Volunteering can be fun!
We currently have lots of volunteering opportunities at Carers Support.
These are just a few:
We produce a newsletter twice a year and deliver this to 1150 homes in and around the five towns of West Wilts. We are always looking for willing volunteers to deliver the newsletter in their area. The maximum number of houses is approx 30 and often a lot less. By hand delivering the newsletter we save on postage and this makes a huge difference to our charity.
We also need people to come in to our office for the occasional hour or two to assist us with a variety of office tasks. This may be putting the newsletters in envelopes, sorting papers, photocopying, general office work or answering the telephone when we are very busy.
If you have had experience of being a carer or are a good listener, you may want to know more about how you could become a befriender. A befriender is a person who makes contact with a carer, either over the telephone or in person, and supports them by listening and being there for them.
Are you interested in setting up or being on a fundraising committee? We always have a need to raise funds, and would be pleased to hear from you if you can help us. We offer training and expenses to all our volunteers and the opportunity to join a very friendly team.
If you would like to know more about any of these volunteering opportunities please contact Carers Support on 01380 871690. We would love to hear from you.
