Band Master receives Civic Award

The nomination reads as follows: Founder member and Band Master of Chippenham Town Band, The Bands success is down to Alan's dedication plus his ability to bring out the best in players whether they're playing the classics or the latest pop tunes. Over the years, the band has entertained many people in John Coles Park bandstand, the Neeld Hall and many other local venues, including the station platform the Brunel celebrations and the Market Place for the VE Day commemorations. Alan drove for Chippenham Transport for the Disabled from 1960 -1976. He joined the 1304 aqdn atc in 1974 and although he completed uniformed service in 1998, he has been training cadets to play the last post and revalie for Remembrance Sunday for the past 32 years.
