CLUB FOUNDER
 | The Sunday league side was formed by Player Manager Jeff.S.Glasson in 2001 and the 38 year old father of two continues in that role as Player-Manager.His football history is very vague, but since moving to Warminster he has:
Founded and managered Warminster united in 1989 who also played in the Frome & district league. Played bits parts with Heytsbury athlethic, before having a couple years out before joining Prestbury utd for a five year spell. Then in 2001 formed the high profiled side The Cock Inn Rangers. He has played most positions ,and for a small guy, does well in the air, used to be quite pacey.and last season saw him recover some of his form from the early years. This season has seen the legs beginning to go, howver he still managed most of the season, two man of match awards two goals and two votes for improving player(well its about time lads, never to late, look at the england squad, years to go before they do anything).
2004-2005 achievments
The 2003-04 squad applauded thier manager effort with a Best season so far trophy, and Mezzetti who won sporting player of the year wrote his own match report on Glasson!!
Cock Inn Rangers 4 - 0 Prestbury utd
Welsh wizard Jeff Glasson was the star of the show as the Cock Inn Rangers ran riot over Prestbury united on Sunday. The Nippy Midfeilder was a blur of activity, running Prestbury's defenders ragged and peppering the goal with a series of long range pile drivers, writes Jeff Glasson
But it was not just on the field that the player-manager left his mark.It all started with a rousing speech in the Kingdown School Changing room when Glasson told his men of his latest 2-3-5 formation. While many players were left confused by the demands this would put on them, they were all reassured by the fact that Glasson would have a free role behind the front four in which to weave his magic. From across the room the fear among the Prestbury players as the news filtered through was obviouse and Glasson knew he had won an early edge.In the past ,derby matches between the two Warminster sides had failed to secure a crowd of double figures, but with Glasson's Recent form the talk of the town, supporters swamped the touchline.Indeed when the cultured playmaker led his team out onto the field , he was greeted to whooping chants of "Glasson for Wales" as national team manager Mark Hughes furiously scribbled down notes on his pad. From the kick off Rangers settled into thier usual slick passing game as Prestbury were left chasing shadows.Just as the French seek out Zindane with thier passes and the Portuguese turn to figo.Rangers took every opportunity to feed Glasson.
Thier trust was rewarded on 12 minutes when rangers took the lead.Glasson lauched one of his mighty throw-ins from the half-way line, expertly finding the shin of Andy Butler. From there a series of ten passes saw Andy Jones tap into the top corner from 25 yards, but there was no doubt that Glasson should be credited with the assist in the fantasy football league table. Prestbury were stunned by the strike and immediatly lauched a wave of attacks on the Rangers goal. Thier striker found himself five yards out with only Stuart Green to beat, but his weak shot into the bottom corner was tipped around the post. While Green was pleased with his save.He later admitted the stiker was bound to have scored if it had not been for a shout of "Jeff's head" as the cross came over.
Glasson's men carried thier 1-0 lead into the break where they recieved thier second tactical innovation of the day.Glasson had noted how Prestbury were tartgeting his silky skills with some dodgy tackling and ordered John Green to man-mark him. This piece of Arsene Wenger-like wisdom ensured Prestbury's Midfeilders could not get near the mercurial star, freeing him up for a sensational second half display. The only susprise was that it took 15 minutes before Rangers added a second. Chris Davis's right wing cross looked as if it would easily be cleared ,before Glasson pounced three yards out.His full length dive saw the ball expertly deflect off his toe and rocket into the net via the keeper's legs and both posts. Two goals up,Glasson took the opportunity to indulge in a bit of show boating as the watching paparazzi took the pictures that would line Mondays back pages. But this did not affect his determination to press on for a famous victory.
Glasson embarked on one of his trademark mazy dribbles and with two defenders bearing down on him,he slipped the ball into space before one of them cynically touched his bootlace and sent him sprawling.Like a true leader Glasson showed he puts his players first and despite numerouse requests for him to take the spot kick,he let Butler have the honour. Although his penalty was not as sweetly struck as Glasson would have liked, the keeper went the wrong way and rangers were 3-0 up,With just one minute left on the clock. Glasson brought on simon hill."i always like to give Simon a good run out to reward him for his commitment to the side"
Then a hopeful long ball from Rich Chalmers in defence was going nowhere until Glasson cunningly dummied it by lifting up his right foot at the last minute. The entire Prestbury defence were caught out by this moment of sheer class and left the ball for Hill to score with a simple diagonal finish from 35 yards. The final whistle blew seconds later and a swarm of grateful teammates and fans carried man-of-the-match Glasson all the way through the town centre for sausage and chips at the Cock Inn.
