Wilts Team Results 2008/09
Season 2007/08
Another good season which just fell short of excellent. Our first season at county level saw us promoted, reach the semi-finals of the league and subsidary cups and the last eight of the Wilts junior cup. Played good football most of the year, beating several sides from the division above along the way so should stand us in good stead for 2008/09. Did lose 13-0 to Salisbury in the hospital cup but was a great experience playing against a professional conference team. Still a very young side in terms of age so should continue to improve and a couple of new signings to strengthen the squad should see us challenging for honours again in 08/09.
Season 2006/07
We will be lucky to have another season as good as this. Premier Division champions by 6 points and Premier Cup and Charity Cup Champions as well as runners up in the Bledisloe Cup. Played good football most of the year and came of age as a club. Brilliant.
Season 2005/06
A massive improvement on the previous season saw us finish offically third (although I prefer to put it as equal 2nd) with only goal difference seperating us from second. However the hard work was rewarded with Promotion to the Premier League. A small squad undoutably played the most attractive football in the local league but sometimes we were a bit lightweight when the going got tough. The team though is very young so the toughness will come and big things are expected in 2006/07.
End of season 04/05 Finishing fifth in the league was a disappointment after such an encouraging pre-season. The biggest low of the season was the performance against Castle Street in the semi final of the Heseltine Cup where we bowed out tamely to opposition we really should not have struggled against. There were several highs - beating Beacon Sports in the quarter final of the same competition was one, taking Premiership leaders Meadowpark to extra time after starting the game with nine men was superb but the emergence of a good crop of young players (Geoff Bonner, Phil Pellow, Damo Creese and Jacques Noel) can only bode well for the future. The season can best be summed up as one of consolidation - laying the foundations for the future.
