Tomy Whorlow memorial cup draw

SILENCED BY THE LAMBS !!!

Division one Side AC Mee Lamb were shocked into a second half fight back after their complacency fuelled a first half goal glut for Fc St George. Goals from Mikey Payne , Jeff Glasson, Skipper Matt Crucifix and Stuart Green , putt the match out of their hosts reach into the Break. The Division One side however turned thE CHAMPAGNE CHEERS TO TEARS in the second half with some quality one touch football which was missing from the first half and were soon reducing the deficit adding to their goal from the first half. Goalkeeper Alex Makwana gifted the home side with a clanger he will soon forget, and Da silvas own goal didn’t help Fc s cause.
Player boss Js Glasson made one change to his side. Stuart Green in for mark Wallis with Da Silva keeping Nigel Chantly on the bench. It was also the first outing for the clubs new Yellow and blue kit which is sponsored by Warminster United Services club. And the Players confidence was evident as they took to the pitch. Fc St George were first to test the keeper Mikey Payne strike nervously saved by the home side keeper. After a few exchanges at both ends Mikey Payne found the net after running onto Man of the Match Stuart Greens throughball and clincily finding the top right corner 0-1. five minutes later Fc Grabbed a second . Rory Kelly was pushed to the ground and his free kick was headsed home by the Gaffa, Jeff Glasson ghosting in from the left flank to head home from six yards. It was not all one way as Ac Milan realised they were in for a hard game, and Goalkeeper Makwana had to pull of a one handed save to deny the home side a goal. Fc’ Defence was also put to the test Da Silva was at hand to thrawt two other threathening moments. . before his side got a third, Mikey paynewho had
threathened to grab a second with two earlier chances saved by the keeper made a darting run infield and was tripped outside the box. Skipper Matt Crucifix calmely slotted the direct free-kick to make it 3-0 . The Homeside suddenly found themselves with not such a easy ride after all and began to make inroads and they broke the visitors defiance and headed home a much needed goal. 1-3Fc St George were swift to response. Crucifx and Glasson both had snap shots go over before stuart green tapped in from close range off a mark davies corner. 1-4. and it was all fgoing good for the visitors. THE Second half the home side came to life and they played like a side in division one, and they came at Fc St George and they proved worthy of their comeback, Nigel Chantly had replaced the spent Simon Clark who limped off after a crashung challenge but this did not stop Milan score Their second and thirds goal from long balls Fc Keeper Makwana angry with his defence with the way they were allowed space and time. Makwana could moan but it was his clanger that gifted the home side their leveller. Makwana kicking the ball away instead of picking it up and it cannoned back into his box of the on coming striker who had the easiest of tap ins.4-4. Skipper Matt Crucifix who had covered all the pitch was replaced by Mark Wallis but this did little to stop the home sides pressure and they soon took the lead from a counter attack. Glassons headed clearance headed back over his defence and left da Silva stranded with the striker on his back, but the Portuguese defender attempt to clear failed as he kneed it past his own keeper..5-4
Fc St George had to go for the attack and pushed for the equalizer to take them into extra time, Mikey Payne cross was just to pacey fro Wallis, Mark Davies long shot went wide and Chantly shot from a corner sailed inches wide. But Milan sealed the win after they counter attacked another Corner and scored their sixth. FINAL SCORE 6-4
“ Gutted is the word , to lose a 4-1 lead in any game is every managers nightmare . but give Milan credit they came at us second half and we just could not contain them “ Writes manager js Glasson

PERMAFRAME 7 V 1 FC ST GEORGE

Cup Glory was not on the cards today as Fc St George slumped to their heaviest defeat of the season. For the first time this season Sidelined Boss JS Glasson had to travel to leight-on-mendip with a bare eleven with new signing Daniel Harper thrown into the deep end. . It was going to be one of those days which ended with Keeper Makwana having maybe the worse Sunday morning game he would like to forget.
Glasson had to hand debut starts to defender John Green, Daniel Harper, And Midfielder Sean Holton who just come back from Suspension. There was a reshuffle of players with youngster Daniel Harper given the stiff task to partner Mikey Payne up front, John Green stepped in for the absent Kennedy, Da Silva went out left wing back and Sean Holton into midfield for the absent Kelly. Permaframe are having their best start to any season and looked capable of grabbing a promotion place just like their division two opponents ,but a division higher, but there was no dividing the two sides in the first twenty minutes , Both sides playing good football and creating half chances. Fc St George stall was laid out well but were short of options up front as Debuted Daniel Harper was finding it a” match too soon”, leaving Mikey Payne having to do the work of two players , The Deadlock was broken when Goalkeeper Alex Makwana was deemed to have pulled down Permaframes striker after rushing out to clear a ball. The Controversial penalty decision turned the game in the home sides favour and after the penalty was tucked away they doubled their lead five minutes later with a stunning volley from 20 yards that dipped over Makwana. Three minutes later Mark Self was duped into conceding another Penalty, Skipper Matt Crucifix protest earns him a yellow card and Permaframe grabbed their third goal. They were a few Fc Players running the risk of cards as frustration and anger boiled over before the break. The Second half Was played out in typical Sunday fashion Fc Pushing numbers forward with Permaframe countering with long balls, the home sides fourth came quite early and number five soon followed from a corner. Fc Did response well, they were more aggressive and responsive and created half chances which brought on the confidence, though they were stretched at the back they could have lessened the deficit with efforts from Payne, Holton and Clark.
Permaframe sixth came from another corner and number seven was a replica of the fourth goal, Makwana rushing out of his box only to see the ball slotted home past him, Fc did grab a consolation goal after a good ten minute spell, Mike Payne had two attempts thwarted and Mark Davies free-kick just wheezed over . it was a god football a bit to late but for their endeavour the visitors were rewarded with a goal, Sean Holton heading home a Mark Davies corner. Final score 7-1

John Green got man of the match from referee- for being consistant and having to defend against the odds during second half ,
