Fc st George 3 – 3 three swans f.c
If new boys Three Swans f.c thought that their division two opponents were going to roll over like Twelve Bells did last week, they were certainly given a wake up call as defiant Fc St George gave them a game to remember ,as early as the fourth minutes Fc’s prolific striker Mikey Payne flashed a shot wide and Mark Wallis lumped a shot over the bar to test the newboys. . This was a game involving two highly charged teams both capable of promotion this season/ This was three swans second game of the campaign and they topped the table at the beginning or proceedings while Glasson’s side, this was their desired last start to Division Two too. Fc’s player manager Jeff Glasson stall was put out the minute the whistle blew and his side dictated the tempo which never let up all match. Three Swans proved worthy opponents and kept to the pace and it was them who took the lead on twenty minutes after Goalkeeper Alex Makwana failed to react quickly enough to clear the loose ball 0-1. Two minutes later FC St George evens things up St s striker Mark Wallis deemed to be nudged in the back in the box . Referee Graham Wilkins spot award was dispatched easily by Rory Kelly to make it 1-1. It was a hectic game with no real time on the ball after that . Three Swans pressure earned them a spell of corners and free kicks with their best chance of the half hr coming from a indirect free-kick inside the box, but they simply didn’t understand the word indirect and shot at goal striker Mikey Payne jumping over the ball intelligently. Disaster for the home side came five minutes later after they failed to clear the ball out their own box and through the melee of playesr three swans grabbed a second 1-2 . Defender Lee Kennedy had a early bath after injuring himself in a last ditch challenge which saved his side from going behind even further. John Green replaced him in a straight swap.
The half team talks by Coach Martin read and club captain Matt Crucifix seem to have boosted the home side who dominated the second half but failed to take their chances that would have secured the win.. The home sides equaliser came on 52nd minute from possession play , a eight man build up which saw Rory Kellys throughball was hit clinically by Striker Mikey Payne past the on-coming Three Swans keeper . 2-2. This inspired the home side to a twenty minute spell of constant pressure. Mark davis swirling free kicks were both headed over by Wallis and Chantly, Clarke saw his header from Kellys corner hit the bar.Player boss Glasson and Captain Matt Crucifix both came off for Da Silva and Stuart Green as the blitzkrieg continued, Da Silva headed over wide from a corner , Mark Davis saw his shot come off the bar. Stuart greens first touch was a tame shot to the keeepr and Da silva shot at the keeper from the rebound. Finally the home side took a deserved lead another mark davies free-kick into the box was touched in by mark wallis to make it 3-2. Three Swans responsed well and from the centre spot they carved out a good opportunity which Makwana had to tip away from a corner.but minute later Makwana was picking the ball out the net after the Yews failed to defend a long ball forward. The ball eluding john green and mark self and the alert striker with plenty of time to place it home. 3-3. With ten minutes to go it was gong ho with both teams searching out a winner. Mikey payne was again thwarted by the keeper an Da Silva long ball forward was just out of Stuart Greens Reach. Final score 3-3
