Cruising along with Crucy

Skipper Matt Crucifix praised his players after seeing them see off ,fourth placed Westfield in a one sided match. Crucifix whoes been drafted back into defence has been a commanding presence in the last two games " . Fellow central defender Lee Kennedy started his first game for three weeks in the absence of Nigel CHantley and between Kennedy, crucy and man of the match Mark self they formed a formidle force at the back to deny Westfeild getting back into the game. There was only one other change from last weeks match and that was Portuguese Da Silva deputising for Makwana who brusied a finger in training.
Manager Js Glasson injury keeps him out of selection but the "ickle bossman" vocals kept his side in check as they looked foward to there continued unbeaten run. Westfields narrow small pitch was a key to Glassons formation, which his wingbacks used to thier advantage. and Da Silvas long kicks foward kept Strikers Wallis and Payne busy. It was westfield who had the first real effort on seven minutes when they forced thier way into the box and in the melee the ball glanced off the topbar and out of danger, but they were rewarded three minutes later when they won a free kick outside the box and quickly depsatched it over the forming Fc wall and Da Silva who stood rooted to the spot. Fc Quickly restored themselves back into the game when Rory Kelly slotted home a penalty after Mratin Read had been deemed to be fouled by the Keeper.1-1. Powerhouse Mark Wallis grabbed a second, but having receieved a kick to the head five minutes earlier , wud not remember closing down the keeper and intercepting his poor kick before drilling it home 1-2. Mikey Payne finally found the net after being denied by the keepr with three tame efforts, Simon Clark had bulldozed his way down the right flank and picked out Payne who had moved out wide, Payne then jinxed past his marker and curled in his first of the game 1-3. The second half concused Mark wallis didnt return and younhster Danial Harper was brought in up front. The second half Got off to a good start. Martin Read long ball foward found Harper who composed himself before playing a timely ball to Payne who could not miss from three yards to make it 1-4. Westfeid changed tactics and looked to have five upfront, this looked to pay off as Da Silva was busier than he had been all morning. and a spell of corners and indecisive moments gave Glasson a few nervouse twitches in his brusied right medius. After his side soaked up the threat they bounced back with another goal. This time it was a solo effort from simon clark who jinxed past four players before volleying in past a flatfooted keeper. 1-5.Clark did have another headed effort dissalllowed for offside before Rory Kelly stepped up with a trademark Volley from 20 yards to make it 1-6. Westfeilds gung ho did reap rewards when they grabbed a second, but it was too late for any miracle comebacks. and Payne was denied a hatrick after seeing three more efforts saved by the keeper.
