BEREBERRY "Rock the boat"
 | Bereberry 3-2 FC ST GEORGE
The wheels on the wagon began too creak, as the festive season continues to blight Glassons sides promotion campaign. Having missed out last week of replacing Three Swans as leaders in a terrific 3-2 defeat to the swans.A trip to Bereberry should have been a walk in the park. Fc Alex Makwana is still out injured and Martin Read and Darusi Snedzik were the only absences.
The match kicked off with Fc dominating play but found it hard to chisel out any chances. and were up against a totally different side who lost 11-1 to Fc at fortress st Georges in October. Bereberry's stall was put out well and they soaked up much of the early pressure before hitting FC with a goal on 28 minutes. After that sudden goal, FC turned up the notch and blitzed Berryberry from every angle , Thier keeper possibly thier best player on the day picking out very loose ball, shot, corner and free kick that came his way. After a hatful of efforts Striker Mikey Payne managed to level things up from ten yards to make it 1-1 into the break.
The second half continued in similar fashion but with Berryberry with downhill advantage and they took the lead again on 56 minutes after a long punt foward was missed by the defense and Green could only get his touch on the ball as it was struck home 2-1. Player-boss Glasson then replaced Simon Clark on the right flank and within five minutes Mark Davies had found his gaffa running in behind the defence and maybe a touch to many , saw his shot go inches wide of the far post. It seemed like nothing was going to get past the home sides keeper unless u were Mikey Payne who tricked and turned his way into the packed box and slotted home from two yards to level things again 2-2.Finally it looked like Fcs domination of the game was paying off, but while surging forward for the winner they paid the price Defender Mark Self dallied on the ball to long and was robbed and Outnumbered Keeper Stuart Green could only watch as number three was slotted home. 3-2. With ten minutes to go Bereberry had a man sent off for violent conduct and Mark Self went off with back injury. john Green replaced him in a straight swap, With seven minutes to go Ten man Bereberry held onto the ball and the three valuable points. Sean Holton was proberly one of the better players on the park considering the amount of pitch. So he grabs the Man of the Match.
final score 3-2 |
