GLASSONS SIDE IN SEVENTH HEAVEN
 | FC ST GEORGE 7 - 3 WESTFIELD
ST GEORGES FIELDS has never looked better. And looked even better as the home side strolled this game for much of the match. The game had looked won in the first half after striker Mark Wallis headed home a Mark Davies Corner ,the first of the four first half goals. The tenth minute opener settled a scrappy first ten minutes after Westfield had their first chance on goal within three minutes but a timely Interception by John Green thwarted the danger.
Defender John green was one of two changes to the side from last week. Central defender Nigel Chantey and Winger Simon Clarke both harboring Injuries stayed away. Green who is familiar as centre back partnered Skipper Matt Crucifix in defense and Mark Davies came in for Clark. Davies formed the midfield with Rory Kelly with Stuart Green going out to the right flank. The veteran of so many years under Glasson’s rein was playing his last game before suspension and didn’t he do well. His timely runs down the right flank and his quick turns in field generated the passages of more goals. On 18 minutes Glassons side grabbed their second. Mark Self found wallis down the left by line and his scooped cross fell kindly to payne who slotted in a low volley. 2-0. After sustaining some Westfeild Pressure the home side then grabbed a third. Mikey payne linking up well with Mark davies and rory Kelly Payne placing his second into the roof of the net 3-0. Mikey is now three goals away from beating last years total and any other Records Glasson side has. Westfield did break a couple of times but the defense just done enough to snub out any real threat. Man of the match Mark davies who playing his first full 90 since January tried a sizzling 30 yard that fellow midfielder Rory Kelly would have been proud off, but the keeper just got a finger on it to turn it over the bar. FC St Georges fourth goal resulted from that corner. Davies in swinger flew over to the far post. Stuart Green saw his path blocked and picked out Rory Kelly whoes first time volley flew into the top left corner, 4-0. Futher efforts by Wallis and Kelly went wide.
The second half saw Fc’S Stuart Green find the net within 30 seconds ,the best of all ten goals . Kelly won the ball in the middle of the park and placed a one two with Green, Green continued running infield and Kelly placed a perfect ball and Greens thunderbolt shot found the top left corner. 5-0. Westfield then went gung ho in a remake of their home game where they lost 6-2, but this time they found some way back and scored two goals in ten minutes. 5-2. Skipper Matt Crucifix went off with a suspected broken nose after a whack in the face, Chris Ayres who returned to the bench this week replaced him, Mark wallis was then replaced by Martin Read. It was a gamble that paid off as Fc St George countered after a westfield corner Payne found Martin one on one with the keeper and the Substitue cooley slotted in to make it six two. Further drama at the end after Left back Glasson was deemed to foul in the box and westfeidl slotted home the penalty 6-3. It was all sixes and sevens towards the end with FC St George losing their composure , Westfield did go close on two other attempts, but the game was over when Mikey Payne Grabbed his hat trick, the striker jinxed his way into the box and his low shot was helped in by the Westfiedl Keeper who was tussling with Martin Read 7-3. Final whistle gone it was a well deserved three points but at the cost of three Goals that could ave been avoided.
