Fc St Georges went out all guns blazing as they tore into a poor Twelve Bells side mauling them 6-1. It was a must win game for Glasson”s side who look to finish third, but all eyes will be on Paulton Rovers who are a point behind after beating Sureset Rangers 8-4. Fc St George were without the services of Sean Holton, Mark Davies, Chris Ayres and Skipper Matt Crucifix so there were a few changes to the side that beat Paulton Rovers 4-1 last Thursday. John Green, mark Self, Mark Wallis all returned the squad, with Stuart Green making his first start back from suspension. Twelve bells started brightly and looked a side not languishing at the bottom of the table a point above basement boys Dilton Rovers. And it was a nervy 15 minutes for Glasson”s side who set out their stall quite early , with the likes of Chantly J Green tiding up at the back. But it was the home side who took the lead. Some clever footwork from man of the match Rory Kelly , The midfielder jinxed his way forward before placing a low shot in the bottom left corner. The keeper had minutes earlier tipped over a Kelly shot and had to thank his right back for a goal line clearance from Mark selfs low thunderbolt, but he was unsighted to the weave ring Kelly. 1-0. Five minutes later it was 2-0. A long goal kick from Keeper Henrick Da Silva was headed on by Stuart Green into the box, where Mikey Payne had time to bring it down before placing it home for his 34th of the season. Twelve bells soon faded away and their keeper had to deal with long shots from Martin Read and Rory Kelly. Mark wallis came close with a third goal was headed wide.
The second half belonged to the home side as Twelve bells went gung ho, with acres of space between their defense and midfield ,Midfielders Rory Kelly and Stuart Green dominated proceeding and it became a turkey shoot on 50 minutes Martin Read latched onto Mikey Payne’s cross and nipped the ball over the diving keeper to make it 3-0. Twelve bells then were given a lifeline after finally beating the Home defense, Last defender Glasson failed clearance ended back into his own net. 3-1. On 65 minutes Mikey Payne grabbed the second of his brace, Reads threaded ball into the box giving Payne the easiest of shots, 4-1. Martin Read playing his last game for his club went off to raptures applaud from his teammates with Simon Clark replacing him on field. Mark wallis followed five minutes earlier with polish man Daruis Snedzik partnering Payne upfront. The battling Pole nearly scored on his first touch but his tame shot didn’t go far. Midfielder Srtuart Green then grabbed a fifth with a bullet header from ten yards . Simon Clark cross was punched out by the keeper and the ball was well powered home by Green.5-1. The rout was finally finished when Right winger Clark jinxed into the box picked out Payne who returned the pass and the winger slammed the ball into the top right hand corner. One of the clubs exciting players Lee Kennedy could ave got a seventh if he had a left foot and Snedzik stuttered wnet two yards out from goal.
