cAFC ST GEORGE!!!!!
Fc St George have it all in their hands now after reaching rock bottom last Sunday. Considering that they have a squad of 24 players it a shame that 14 do not see the importance of what the club officials are trying to build. Those that did turn up for the cause can be justified in making a song and dance about it That one player could have made all the difference, that one player stood between relegation and league survival. Players Moan about not getting a run out- Where are they- Players say they can make a difference- Where are they - players say thier be there- but where were they. This was a big step for Fc St George who might have needed another season in Division Two , The Clubs early wins might have squashed those thoughts, but they are certainly coming back now. Fc St George welcome TIMSBURY CRICKETEERS to st Georges next week, Glasson s side rocked the Somerset side with a deserved 4-1 win at the beginning of the season, Farrington sit above Glassons side in the bottom three and this could be the break Fc St George need if and only if the Squad really believe and turn up. Mark Davies, Sean Holton, Daruise Sedzik are currently the only ones unavailable. Damian Holton returns from suspension and Manager Js Glasson will stick his name back in the hat BRITTLE BONES OR NO BRITTLE BONES
ADSA 6 - 0 FC ST GEORGE
ASDA GIVE NO XMAS CHING CHING
FC travelled to Maiden Brady to face Asda FC. The squad travelled very light with only the bare 11 players, this was not what Manager Js Glasson wanted who wanted to win this game to kick start FCs season again, this through another spanner in the teams plans as one of the 11 players might have had to run the line. Captain M Curcifix had a word with the referee on his arrive but this was a no goer the referee insisted that one o FCs 11 players had to run the lien. Up stood J Green to offer his services.
The game kicked off in a blizzard and things got worse for FC when after ten minutes Asda scored with a goal mouth scramble and then going through Mark Self’s legs. 1-0. then 5 minutes that they made it 2-0. Fc were defending like crazy at this point but did produce some good attacking football but only for the boggy pitch or the first touch letting them down. M Payne went close just after the ½ hour mark when M Wails combined a 1-2 with S Green who put a through ball to M Payne.
Asda managed to score 2 more goals, as FCs defence was stretched, before the referee blew his whistle for ½ time. The second half saw J Green come on for J Davies. M Curcifix moving out to right wing and J Green slotting in to central defence along side M O’Connell. Asda pushed there extra man up front in this half and they made it work straight away the ball being played down the left by their left winger the cross came in and got deflect up in the air and then a bit of confusion between N Phelps and J Green saw the Asda striker slot the ball home past the stranded keeper H Da Silva. Asda scored another to make it 6 -0. Fc thought a comeback was on the cards when M Payne was fouled in the box and won a penalty. M Payne duly stepped up to take it. On his approach his standing foot slipped and he lost all hi power in the shot and it was an easier save for the Asda keeper. FC had very few chances after this M Wails having a powerful shot across the goal. FC defended well to keep the score as low as possible.
FC never got out of the starting blocks and the first 2 quick goals stunned them and it was all up hill from then on
Squad H. Da Silva, L Kennedy, M Curcifix, M O’Conner, N Phelps, J Davis, M Wallis, M Self, S Green, M Payne

SUNDAY NOV 30TH
FC ST George face another stiff task this weekend when they take a trip into the wilderness to play Asda Fc. Glasson is not relishing the trip on current form. Asda Beat Fc on the opening game of the season and they are a fast tempo side that are in your face from the off. Glasson faces more grief with a depleted side. Chris Ayres, Mark Davies, Simon Clark,Sean Holton are doubtful. Damien Holton is still banned and Keeper Green is 50/50. John Green comes straight into the side and Youngsters Craig wilson, Dan Read. Shaun Parhaw, Jamie Davies and Brothers Steve and Nathan Phelps all pushing for the bench.
REFEREE's DO HAVE A HEART!!!!!
Referee T.McCathy was one of the first to highlight the fact that is was Fc's Skippers Matt Crucefix Birthday This Monday. Not only did he give him a card, which was unsigned, but he also gave the skipper first choice of the shower cubicals.... Happy Birthday Matt!!!
FC ST GEORGE 1 – 4 ARTISANS
If you spot someone searching desperately among the mountains of Wiltshire trash it will be the Fc’s Manager Js Glasson looking for his Boots. The bewildered Welshman saw his side go from hero’s to zeros in a fifthteen minute spell in a second half comeback by the Artisians. Glassons transformed side totaly deserved their 1-0 lead into the break m but all their hard work and labouring vanished in a eventful second half. Two enforced substitutes and a sending off only added to Glassons fifth defeat in a row.
Manager Glasson made five changes from the side that lost 6-0 to Artisans last week, the major one Chris Ayres debutising in Goal with Da Silva and Stuart Green unavailable. Simon Clark, Sean Parhew and John Green also dropped and in came Mike O.connell. Sean Holton,Martin Read and Skipper Matt Crucefix. The Fc St George looked quite strong With Sean Holton sitting in defence alongside kennedy Chantly and Mark Self and it showed in the early exchanges, and throughout the first half there was no difference between the two sides, O Connell and Read on the wings brought the flanks alive and Captain Crucefix and Mark Davies winning everything in the middle and unlike last week Wallis and Payne had supply and support. Artisans played their usually game off riding the tide then pushing the button, but they were on the cosh in spells and Mikey payne came closest to opening the scoring on 22 minutes scooping the ball over the bar from two yards. Payne also tested the keeper from long range a minute later. But on the half hour Glassons side scored from direct play, Keeper for the day Chris Ayres Goal kick was knocked on into the path of Payne , a mix up between to Artisan defenders gave the prolific striker time to jinx past the on coming keeper and send home the ball in to the open net 1-0. With no respite Artisans then had a good ten minutes, where some desperate Fc defending and some good keeping by Ayres kept their one nil lead into the second half.
The second half resumed as it ended and Fc looked good for their lead against the Division One Leaders, Mark Davies always the creative one , Skipper Matt Crucifix the battler who had a rare outing in the middle. Sean Holton sweeping up at the back. O.connell overlaps down the right flank, and strikers Mark wallis and Mike Payne challenging for everything, artisans would need to change something sooner or later, and it came!!!. The Artisans made three changes with half hour to go one being ex yew tree player Sesan oyetuga , and they resorted to playing the ball long. The changes seemed to make a impact and they forced a couple of freekicks and corners before grabbing a equaliser on 56 minutes. The initial ball into the box was parried away by Ayres, the ball seemed to be going out for a corner but quick reactions by a Artisan drilled in back in low and through the melee of players it was struck home 1-1. This turned the game and 15 minutes to go Sean Holton and Martin Read signalled they could not continue and were replaced by Simon Clark and Youngster Steven Phelps on his debut, Skipper Crucefix returned to the back as Glasson went Defensive. This was a blow to Glasson who had little options on the bench and any probing foward was lacking support . Artisans then pushed that button and they grabbed the chance to take the lead through a penalty. The artisans attack force walzed through the Fc defence, past Keeper Ayres and had Fc’s Skipper between them and a Goal. The skipper sliding to the floor only to feel the ball bounce of his chest and along his arm. Referee T. MccATHY Immiatly pointing to the spot and sending the Skipper for a early bath. The Penalty was duly shipped home.1-2. Ten minutes to go it was then1-3. Substitute Simon Clark bad touch off Lee Kennedys throw let in the Artisian striker who ran from the halfway and put a low shot past keeper Chirs Ayres. Artisans then sealed their comeback with a thunderous shot from 18 yards to complete Fc St Georges misery. Final score 1-4
