What is the Hilperton Village Design Statement?
The Hilperton Vilage Design Statement is essential reading for anyone looking for planning permission for development in Hilperton, whether their project is a single house extension or a whole new estate. Its purpose is to act as a guide for those designing new developments so that they will protect and enhance the character of the village and its surrounding area. It was adopted by the planning authority, West Wiltshire District Council, as Supplementary Planning Guidance in April 2005.
What's in it?
The Hilperton Village Design Statement is a 24-page booklet divided into three parts. The first part gives general information and a description of the whole parish. The second part gives planning guidance about the appearance, form and materials that are desirable in new developments for the original village of Hilperton, Hilperton Marsh and the surrounding areas. The third part provides reference information and contacts. The whole is illustrated with many useful photographs, maps and drawings.
Where can I get it?
The booklet can be downloaded from the Hilperton Parish Council web site and printed copies may be available from Hilperton Parish Council or West Wiltshire District Council (see Links for Hilperton Village Design Statement Team).
