General Routines

Playgroup Times

To ensure the security and safety of your child it is requested that the Playgroup times be adhered to, i.e. children arrive promptly at the start of the session and are collected on time at the end.
When a child is late it disturbs the other children and the routine of the arrival, and delays the beginning of activities. When a child is not collected on time after the morning session, the members of staff will not have sufficient time to get organised or eat their lunch before the start of the afternoon session.
If a child is collected late from the afternoon session, this can cause members of staff to be late in collecting their own children from school.
Thank you for your promptness.

Collection

By the use of a register, each child is welcomed to the Playgroup and, for security reasons; a member of staff hands over your child to you at the end of the session.
Should your arrangements for collection change, i.e. collection by another member of your family or a friend, please ensure that the Playgroup staff are informed directly.

Clothes

Please ensure that your children are dressed suitably for the activities of the Playgroup. Clothes may accidentally be marked by paint or glue.
“Holy Rood” t-shirts and sweatshirts are available to order, in various sizes, coloured red with the Playgroup logo.
These are popular with the children as it makes them feel “special” and sales help the Playgroup funds!
During the summer the children are invited to play in the garden just outside the Playgroup, weather permitting.
On these occasions, it is your responsibility to apply suncream to your child before he/she attends the session and to provide a suitable sun hat.

Safety

For the safety of the children, no personal toys or sweets are to be brought into the Playgroup. “Comfort” toys may be brought to the session if your child has difficulty initially “settling in”.
An accident register is used to record any mishaps that may occur.

Fees

A non-returnable fee of £5.00 is payable on registration.
The current sessional fee for non funded children is £5.50 per session and the total fees for each half term are payable within 2 weeks of being issued.
Social Services funding may be available for three-year-olds. For further details please speak to a member of the staff or committee, who will be more than happy to help you.
Fees will not be refunded if your child does not attend a session, unless suffering from an infectious illness, such as measles, chicken pox etc, or is hospitalised.
In this case, we ask you to advise the Playgroup in writing within one week of the start of the illness if you want to request a refund.
Reminders for late fees will be issued and non-payment may result in your child’s removal from the Playgroup.
We do not wish to be harsh, but all fees are a major source of income and are necessary to pay the staff and continue the provision of the facilities, services and equipment.
