Introduction
 | Holy Rood Playgroup offers its services to children between the ages of 3 (in the appropriate half-term) and their start date for school, within the local community. It is open to children from all religious and ethnic groups and to children with learning difficulties or disabilities. The Playgroup is run by a voluntary committee of parents, who are responsible for the employment of staff and work alongside the staff, with the aim of providing all necessary support to ensure the smooth running of the Playgroup. The Playgroup currently runs a session each morning starting at 9.15am and finishing at 11.45am and each afternoon starting at 12.15pm and finishing at 14.45pm, from Monday to Friday. We are registered to take up to 18 children per session, and we have between 4 and 5 staff members to take care of them. |

The Aim of the Playgroup
Our aim is for your child to have fun in a friendly and educational environment. There is a lot to be gained from children playing and discovering together. To this end, the Playgroup will endeavour to offer help and guidance to your child by:
¨ learning through play
¨ encouraging and stimulating his or her imagination
¨ being able to socialise with his or her peers
¨ easing the transition to school
¨ offering the opportunity to participate in activities not always available to children
We do not set out to teach children in the way in which they will be taught at school and we hope that your child will receive great pleasure from our learning methods.
