About the Curriculum
Maranatha Christian School does not use the national curriculum, but instead uses a system called Accelerated Christian Education. Using this system children work at their own best pace using specially produced workbooks called PACES. This ensures that faster students are not held back, whilst slower students don't miss out - as is so common in teacher led classes. These more academic studies are held in the mornings and then after lunch students concentrate on practical, group and physical activities.
Students work toward the nationally recognised Christian Schools Certificate qualifications.
Not only do the PACES meet the academic needs of the students in all the usual curriculum areas, they also instil into the children a God-centred view of the world, rather than the secular-humanist view prevalent in state schools today. |
