Marlborough Ecumenical Partnership

All the Marlborough Churches work together in a Local Ecumenical Partnership. There are over 300 of these partnerships in England. The Marlborough one was formed in 1972. It includes the three Anglican Parish Churches (St Mary's Marlborough; St John the Baptist, Mildenhall - pronounced Minal; and St George's Preshute covering Manton, Rockley and Clench Common), the Methodist/United Reformed Church (Christchurch), St Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Marlborough College and the Society of Friends (Quakers).

Each church has its own services on a Sunday, but there are various services when the congregations meet together. In January a service is held to renew the Covenant and involves lay and ordained representatives from each of the seven churches. Visitors are always welcome in each of the Churches, although details of services open to the public at the College Chapel are listed on the notice board at the College.

The Marlborough Ecumenical Partnership Council comprises lay representatives from each of the participating churches as well as all the ordained clergy and is the forum where issues are discussed and taken back to individual congregations.
