Season 2008-09 Under 12's Competition

1st round: To be played on or before 28th December 2008

Game 1: Amesbury Junior Vs Sarum Youth
Game 2: Laverstock & Ford (Tyro League) Vs Tidworth Royals
Game 3: Salisbury City Vs Laverstock & Ford (Badger League)
Game 4: Durrington Rangers Vs Alderbury

Semi Finals: To be played on or before 22nd February 2009

Final to be played on 30th April 2009






In order not to interfere with league games clubs are encouraged to play midweek where possible and bring fixtures forward if both clubs can agree.

Competition Rules

1. Name / Control of Competition
(a) The Competition shall be called the NADDER VALLEY CHALLENGE CUP COMPETITION (Junior Boys Under 12) and shall be competed for annually.
(b) The entire control and management of the Competition shall be vested in the Management Committee of the Nadder Valley Football League, who shall have the power to formulate the Rules of the Competition and to alter or add to the Rules as they, from time to time, deem expedient.

2. Entrance Fee
(a) The Entrance Fee shall be £20.00

3. Eligible Clubs
(a) The Competition shall be open to Minor Teams who participate in a Youth or Minor League Football within 50 miles radius of the City of Salisbury in Wiltshire.
(b) All Clubs must be affiliated to their respective County Football Association Ltd and supply their affiliation number on their entrance form.

4. Qualification of Players
(a). A registered member is one who is registered with a League in which his Club competes.
(b) No Player shall be allowed to play for more than one competing Club, and in the case of postponed, drawn or replayed matches, only those Players qualified on the original date of the match shall be eligible to take part.
( c ) A Club may at its discretion use five Substitute Players from five nominated at any time in the match, on a rolling basis, except to replace a Player who has been dismissed from the field of play by the Referee for misconduct after play has been commenced. The substitutions can only be made when play has stopped for any reason and the Referee has given permission. The names of Players and Substitutes with the corresponding shirt numbers must be handed to the Referee on the Team Sheet provided before the kick-off. Substitutes not named on this sheet may not take part.

5. Protests
(a) All protests respecting the eligibility of Players must be made in writing to the Registration Secretary within 7 days of the match, accompanied by a deposit of £25 (twenty five ) , which shall be forfeited if the protest is not sustained. The management committee shall deal with the offending Club as they see fit and act accordingly. The management Committee may order the protesting or offending Club to pay any costs incurred in connection with such protest .The Management Committee may at its discretion have power to call on any Player competing in this Competition to prove to its satisfaction that he is properly qualified according to the Rules, and if such proof is not forthcoming the Management Committee shall act accordingly .
(b) Any protest in relation to the ground, goalposts, crossbars or other appurtenances of the game shall not be entertained unless an objection has been lodged with the Referee before the commencement of the game. The Referee shall require the responsible Club to correct the cause of the objection, if this is possible, without unduly delaying the progress of the match. When an objection has been lodged with the referee a protest , accompanied by a deposit of £25.00,must be made in writing to the Registration Secretary within 7 days of the match and neither the objection or the protest shall be withdrawn except by leave of the Management Committee.
( c ) All protests arising from (a) and (b), or any other Rule of this Competition must contain full details of the grounds upon which they are based and must be accompanied by the stipulated fee/deposit.
(d) The Registration Secretary shall send a copy of the protest and its grounds to the club protested against.
(e) Each Club may support its case by witnesses at a subsequent hearing of the protest.
(f) The protest shall be investigated by the Management Committee. The decision of that Committee shall be final.

6. The Draw.
(b) In the event of a match being drawn at the expiration of 70 minutes, an extra 20 minutes (10 minutes each way) must be played,. In the event of a further draw at the expiration of extra time, each side shall take five penalty kicks, each kick taken alternately by separate Players of each team, the team scoring the most penalty kicks shall be the winner. If the scores are still equal, each team shall take further penalty kicks using different Players until one team fails to score, but each team must take equal penalty kicks, the team not failing to score shall be the winner.( All as per the Laws of the Game ).
In the event of a match not being played on the original date through unavoidable circumstances, it shall be played on the following Sunday or otherwise at the discretion of the Management Committee .
When the first match has been postponed or has been abandoned before the completion of full time and neither club has been at fault, it must be played on the same ground on a date to be fixed by the Management Committee. Notice of postponement of any tie must be given without delay ( by personal service, telephone or email ) by the home Club to the Registration Secretary, the Referee’s Secretary , the Secretary of the away Club and to the Referees ( and the Assistant Referees if applicable ).
( c ) The Final shall be played on a neutral ground on a date fixed by the Management Committee. In the event of the Final being drawn at the expiration of 70 minutes, an extra 20 minutes (10 minutes each way ) shall be played. (d) All matches shall be played in accordance with the Laws of the Game as settled by the International Football Association Board, and shall be 70 minutes duration (35 minutes each way) and Clubs must play their best teams in all matches
(e) When the match is played at a ground where there are technical areas the following shall apply;-
(I) The number of Club’s players & officials in the technical area must not exceed eight per team.
(ii) Only named substitute players, managers, coaching & medical staff shall be permitted in the technical area.
(iii) In default a Club shall be fined as decided by the Management Committee.


7. Gate Receipts - Allowable Expenses
In all rounds up to the Final the home club shall be responsible for the Match Official’s fee and expenses as laid down by the Management Committee.
The Final shall be played on a neutral ground deemed suitable by the Management Committee. A charge or collection is to be made at the Final Tie and this money will be set against the cost of the Trophies.

8. Appointments of Match Official
The home club is responsible for providing a match official for each round apart from the final which will be appointed by the league. In all matches preceding the Final Tie, the Home Club shall pay the Match Officials fee and expenses as laid down by the Management Committee. All Officials must report to the ground at least 30 minutes before the official time of kick-off.
In the event of a change of appointed Match Officials the Home club must be notified of the name (and other particulars) of the replacement Officials.
In the Final Tie the Match Officials will receive a suitable souvenir in lieu of match fee.
In those matches where Neutral Assistant Referees are not appointed each competing Club shall nominate its own Linesman to the Referee and such particulars as may be required shall be made available at least 15 minutes before the official time of Kick-Off.
Clubs failing to comply must provide a written explanation and may be fined a sum as decided by the Management Committee.

9. Club Colours
In the event of two teams having similar colours, the Home Team shall change. In the Final Tie if both teams have similar colours then both sides shall change, and shall inform the Cup Secretary of the proposed colour change at least fourteen days before the date of the Final Tie.


10. Match Result Forms
The result of each match (including the Final), together with a list of Players and Initials, Substitutes, if used, and the Referees marks must be correctly recorded in every detail on the form provided and signed by the club Secretary and shall be sent by the Secretary of each Club so as to be in the hands of the Competition Registration Secretary within three days of the match being played (Sundays & Bank Holidays excluded). Clubs failing to comply shall be fined a sum as decided by the Management Committee.
After the award of a mark of 50 or below to the Referee the Club giving the mark must give a written explanation within three days of the match.
The home club shall telephone the result of each match (excluding the Final Tie) to the Registration Secretary within two hours of the conclusion of the match, or be liable to a fined as decided by the Management committee.
Referee’s are requested to forward the Team Sheets to the Cup Secretary as soon as possible after the match.

11. Presentation of Trophy, Souvenirs etc.
(a) The Cup shall be presented to the winning Club at the conclusion of the Final game, together with 17 suitable souvenirs to each Finalist, which shall include one for each Secretary. A Glass Trophy is also presented to the winning team to keep in their Trophy Cabinet
(b) Application for extra souvenirs will be considered by the Management Committee. Clubs must state the name of the Player (s) for whom an extra souvenir is required. No application will be considered unless the Player(s) has taken part in at least 50% of his Clubs matches in the Competition for which application for the souvenir is made.
Any souvenir granted will be at the Clubs expense.

12. The Trophy - Conditions of taking over
(a) The Cup shall remain the sole property of the Nadder Valley Football League.
(b) The Cup shall be held by the winning Club until March 1st of the following year.
The Management Committee shall be responsible for the engraving of the Winners name on the trophy, the cost shall be paid for by the Club. A member of the Management Committee will collect the Cup, failing to have the Cup available by the date instructed may result in a fine of £10.00, The Nadder Valley Football League will insure the Cup, the winning Club shall pay £20.00 towards the cost of insurance, which must be paid within 14 days of the Final Tie, but any damage incurred whilst in the care of the Club will result in the Club being held responsible and having to pay for its repair.

13. Correspondence
Any Club failing to reply to correspondence from the Competition Registration Secretary within a prescribed period of fourteen days when requested to do so, shall be fined a sum not exceeding £ 20.00.
Secretaries of competing Clubs must make contact with the appointed Referee (and Assistant Referee’s where applicable) at least Five Days before the appointed Match Day, ensuring the Official is given details of the Location of the Ground and Kick -off time and any other relevant information pertaining to the Match.
14. Other Matters. In any matter not specifically mentioned in these Rules, the Management Committee shall have the power to take such action and impose penalties as it deems necessary and all decisions shall be final.
