Counselling Service for Parents/Carers
Who is it for?
There are many reasons for seeking counselling. You may be feeling upset and distressed. You may have problems with your feelings, thoughts, or your relationship with others. You may have had a life crisis such as bereavement or have lost your job. You may feel you lack direction in your life.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is not about advice or telling you what to do. The aim of the counsellor initially is to enable you to explore and clarify whatever is troubling you or concerning you. However big or small, counselling can help you put your problems into persepective. The outcome of counselling depends very much on the individual but you are likely to become less confused, you may make changes in your life or come to terms with things that can't be changed.
Who can I see?
We currently have three counsellors working on 3 different days at the family centre. There is a waiting list, however, if you would like to see a counsellor and live in the North Swindon area (Abbey Meads, Penhill or Pinehurst) and have a child under the age of 10 years, then please contact 01793 705810 for further information.
