Battle of Britain Parade/Activities
Battle of Britain Sunday - 21 September 2008
The Royal Air Force Veterans on parade were minimum this year but with our like associations and the Royal Air Force we had a successful occasion. This involved marching through Old Town paying respects to our local diginataries on route concluding at Christchurch for the Church Service. A thought provoking sermon from the RAF Lyneham Minister brought the congregation attention to past Battle of Britain activies relating to the present operations in the Royal Air Force. The day concluded with the President (RAFA Swindon), Mayor of Swindon, Station Commander (RAF Lyneham) & Dignitaries meeting serving/ex-service people and members of the Royal Air Forces Association at their Club in Belle Vue Road.
On behalf of Swindon Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) I would like to thank everybody who participanted in this celebration of the Royal Air Force.
