"SHIRTING GIRLS"

Copyright: Delcia Appleby The Cellular Clothing Co. factory was situated between Morris and Hughes Street, and was built and opened in 1902. The women who worked as machinist were known locally as "shirting girls". The building was demolished in 1986 to be replaced by residential housing. 2nd from left at the back is Ivy Pinnegar.
