Robins Remembered - what is it all about?
 | This website has been set up to help publicise the 'Robins Remembered' association which has been formed to secure memorabilia associated with Swindon Town Football Club since its formation.
** No liability can be accepted for any errors or omissions on this website **
WHERE DID 'ROBINS REMEMBERED' ORIGINATE? The idea to set up Robins Remembered originated from a public appeal in the Summer of 2005 when a valuable collection of medals awarded to Swindon Town legend Harold Fleming were put up for auction. Long time Swindon supporter Chris Scott organised a public appeal to raise funds in an effort to secure part of the medal collection for posterity and this generated enough money to pay for half of the medals. In addition the other half of the collection has also been loaned back to 'Robins Remembered' to enable the collection to be displayed at future public exhibitions.
Following on from the success of the appeal it was realised that there was a need for other Swindon Town related memorabilia to be secured for posterity. So in September 2005 a small steering group consisting of Chris Scott, Club Historian Dick Mattick, Swindon Town's Media and Communications Manager Chris Tanner and supporter Paul Wynn met and agreed that the Robins Remembered association should be established. NB We have included (below) a copy of an article from the Swindon Advertiser dated April 29th 2005 which contains more background about the medal collection.
MARCH 15TH - A SIGNIFICANT LAUNCH DATE! It is quite fitting that Robins Remembered is being launched on March 15th 2006 - which is the 37th anniversary of arguably Swindon Town's greatest triumph - when as Third Division club they overcame the mighty Arsenal 3-1 to win the 1969 League Cup Final at Wembley.
Who can forget the likes of Don Rogers, Stan Harland, Frank Burrows, Danny Williams,John Trollope and the other mud drenched heroes of 1969? But Town's history goes back further than that with other legends who have been associated with the Club such as Harry Morris, Bert Head and many players and officials who in their own way shaped the Club's history.
We are determined that the memories built up watching Swindon Town through thick and thin are not lost and hope that our fellow supporters would like to join Robins Remembered.

Article from the Swindon Advertiser about the Medals
More memorabilia to be returned From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 29th Apr 2005.
A PRIVATE collector who outbid a group of Swindon supporters for Town memorabilia has agreed to donate it all to the County Ground.
As revealed in yesterday's Adver the fans, led by Chris Scott, managed to rescue six of the 14 lots of Harold Fleming's history up for auction in Chester.
Fleming was one of the club's greatest ever footballers.
But with many of the items going for more than double their guide price it looked like the rest would be leaving Swindon for good. Now the Adver has tracked down the man who bought the other medals.
And Welsh businessman Neville Evans, 41, who spent more than £5,000 on the goods says he would be delighted to loan them to the museum for Swindon's footballing history that Mr Scott is trying to set up.
He said: "It's their spiritual home isn't it? I would be more than happy to see them back there."
Mr Evans, president of Aberystwyth's football club, has a huge collection of football memorabilia including the ball used in the first World Cup final between Uruguay and Argentina in 1934 and 1,200 international caps.
Mr Scott, 72, of Haydon View Road, said: "It's excellent news. It's smashing that it will all be in one place.
"This is an excellent platform for the museum and I'd like to thank the Adver.
"This will really be something for the people of Swindon to be proud about."
