Aims and ideals

Swindon Access Action Group aims to provide a focus point for matters relating to accessibility towards systematic removal of architectural, structural and attitudinal barriers.

We oppose any proposals which restrict the liberty, access or inclusion of disabled people.

We promote and ensure active participation of disabled people in efforts to secure safe and easy access to buildings, facilities and services.

We maintain links and work closely with local, national and international organisations, including voluntary and statutory bodies.

We communicate with and can provide information, support and advice to disabled people and their organisations in the appropriate format (eg Braille, audio tape, large print).

Meetings

The Swindon Access Action Group meets bi-monthly (January, March, May, September, November) on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Broadgreen Community Centre at 7.00pm (until 9.00pm).
Accessible venue - see Venue page for details.
See also AGM page.

Venue

The Broadgreen Centre in Salisbury Street (off Manchester Road) is a wheelchair-accessible venue, with a loop system. BSL or Lipspeak is available on request for bi-monthly meetings (please give at least one week's notice if possible). BSL & Lipspeak are provided for the AGM.
