Who Are We?
The members of Salisbury Folk Dance Club are a group of people interested in folk-style social dancing. We meet for the pleasure of listening and dancing to traditional and modern folk dance music on Tuesday evenings at St Martin’s School, Shady Bower, Salisbury from 7.30 to 10.00, mainly in term times. Our year runs from September to August and membership costs £2 per year and reduces for people joining later in the year. The fee for each evening is £2 for members and £2.50 for non-members, although newcomers trying us out for the first time come in free.We are a friendly group of mainly 40 to 60 year olds but have several members outside this bracket. We all enjoy the company of others and welcome newcomers and visitors from other clubs. Our regular caller is David Tullis assisted by other club callers who will do their best to help people new to the folk dance scene, but we also have regular guest callers once a month to give us a flavour of other traditions and add variety to our dancing. |
