Salisbury Chess Club meets from 7.20pm on Thursday evenings throughout the year. (Some of our retired members also meet on Monday mornings for further battles).
We currently have around 25 members with playing strengths of between 75 and 185 ECF.
In addition to friendly games the club holds an annual tournament to decide its Champion.
The SCC also competes in three divisions of the Southampton League. When the calendar permits we have convivial evenings with friendlies against neighbouring clubs and rapidplay, handicap and buzzer timed games.
Any chess player, of whatever ability, is welcome to visit the Club for an evening of chess with a view to possibly joining later. The membership fee, which from 1 April 2011 is entirely due to venue hire, is now £35 per annum. Membership is open to all (although juniors have to be accompanied by authorised relatives).
The clubrooom on the first floor but there is accommodation on the ground floor if access is an issue (please make the club secretary aware of your interest if these circumstances apply).
