On Saturday 11th November Denise taught at the Maeda Dojo in Germany at the request of Sensei Clyde White, who also trains at the Salisbury SKC.
The three hour lesson worked on Kihon, Kata and Kumite. Kihon focused on stances and the importance of the front knee position and use of the heel for movement and power, it also worked on the significance of hiki-ashi and hiki-te. The Kata and Kumite sessions worked on the five Heian Kata and Gohon Kumite.
All the students enjoyed the experience and we hope the interaction between clubs develops and continues.
Denise would also like to thanks Clyde and Barbara for their warm welcome and hospitality. |
