Salisbury SKC members fight to victory!

Legend Competition 2006

Sunday the 5th March 2006 saw the return of the annual Legend competition (sponsored by Legend Productions) held at the Littledown Sports Centre in Bournemouth, Dorset.

Four students (K. Hacker, T. Learner, S. Blackman and R. Conway) from the Salisbury Karate Club were awake bright and early on Sunday morning keen to arrive in time to compete in the event which brought in about 250 competitors from across the country and from several different karate styles.

After the nerves had settled and the competition was well underway it was clear to see a high standard of karate throughout the competitors within both the kumite and kata events. The atmosphere was electric and there was most certainly a healthy dose of competition between the competitors!

It was a long and tiring day for most, even the judges and referees were kept on their toes, but there were good results for the club with Karen winning a very impressive 2 first places in the 8th-4th Kyu individual senior female kata and kumite events, Simon fought hard to come 2nd the 8th-4th kyu 12-13 years over 5’2” kumite and Tom fought very well in the higher age category to gain a joint third in the 8th-4th kyu 16-20 year old cadet kumite category.

Well done to all our students who entered the competition and thanks to the parents for your support!

F.B.S.K.U.(I) Christmas Competition 2006

Sunday 10th December 2006 morning proved to be a cold and icy start for those competitors from the Salisbury SKC heading to Bournemouth for the annual F.B.S.K.U.(I) Christmas Competition.

Five members of the club bravely competed in various kata and kumite categories throughout the day. These were Karen Hacker, Rachel Jackson, Tom Robinson, Simon Blackman and Rob Gerrish. All club members did extremely well and showed true karate spirit!

Well done guys!
