Why we are here
SJC was started in August 1995, by a small group of friends who met through the sport of Judo, of which Mike Crowe, Andrew & Carol Hill were founding members.
The Club has always been non-profit making, with the money raised from session fees (the only income of the club currently) used to (amongst other things):
Pay for the hall: Circa £2,400 p.a.
The Yearly kid’s Christmas disco
Belts and tabs for gradings
Any left over cash is placed in a savings account in an attempt to (very slowly) raise enough money to eventually replace the mat.
