St Mary’s is a Grade I listed building of unique architectural value.

* It dates from the 13th century
*It is one of only 3 churches in the country to have a tower and a spire
*It still retains some of its medieval wall paintings

For centuries St Mary’s, with its sense of light, space and peace, has been a central point of the local community. Today it still offers a timeless place for people of all walks of life who come to worship, reflect, mourn and celebrate together.

St Mary’s Church is entirely funded by the gifts of the congregation and those who come to church for special occasions such as weddings and baptisms.

We are fortunate that many people voluntarily give us their time and skills to help care for St Mary’s.

However, the basic running costs to keep the church building open are a minimum of £1000 a month.

There are also unforeseen expenses that arise from time to time which have to be met in order to maintain St Mary’s. These costs average £5000 a year.

We are asking the Friends of St Mary ‘s to help us care for the church. All subscriptions that we receive from our Friends will be used to maintain and enhance the building.
