11th August Bradford on Avon (away)
The season's tightest finish to date saw Service leave the picturesque town of Bradford on Avon disappointed. A number of fingers have been pointed as to where blame for the last ball defeat lies, yet really it seems the Swindon boys were just not up to the task on this day.
A slow start lead by money (10 runs from 18 overs) was compensated for by a fine innings from Cunningham. His 61 was made in good time whilst the rest of the team scratched around him. A total of 173 however looked to be good one on a wicket that was far from easy to bat on.
Bradford however got off to a good start, in contrast to Deroux who was pinged for six off his first delivery. Bradford looked to be cruising needing only 40 off the last 13 overs with 5 wickets in hand. However a run out soon saw them on the backfoot again as Mabberley and Dickinson struggled to bring Service back into the game. Unfortunately Dickinson was tonked for 6 in the penultimate over leaving Mabberley only a few runs to play with. He bowled well, but in the end it wasn't good enough and Service slip to their second defeat in a row.
