WHO AND WHAT ARE WE??

We are a non-political and non-sectarian service organisation affiliated to Lions International.
We meet at the De Vere Hotel, West Swindon at 8.00p.m. on the FIRST and THIRD Mondays of each month. You would be very welcome to see how we conduct our business.

Swindon Lions Club gained it's Charter in 1965. We currently have 25 members with a diverse range of age and backgrounds.
There are 3 main aspects of our club's operation, and this is reflected in our organisation:-

1 Fund Raising Committee. This has the task of conceiving, organising and managing the various fund raising activities, ranging from the fireworks show to the sponsored walks to Santa's tour of the town.
2 The Welfare Committee. This committee investigates and considers the cases put to us and recommends a course of action to the club. This could be direct support such as DIY projects or a donation of funds.
3 Social Committee. Club members and their partners get together for dinners, days out or just simple gatherings. The club members themselves fund these. Good comradeship and enjoyable events. We also have an active "Twinning" with Les Andeleys Lions Club and have return visits to France, again self funded.

We have a Supporters Club for those who would like to support our work but cannot give the time commitment. Membership costs £13.00 pa and includes automatic entry into the 12 draws for cash prizes. This yields a good income to the charity fund and is greatly appreciated. Please contact by E mail for details.
