This Website is in the memory of a fantastic player that never got the chance to play first team football in the premiership. It is the late Jimmy Davis who was on loan at the county ground from Manchester United for three months, shortly before the 2002/2003 season,
Davis was an England under-20 international, who made his debut for Swindon as a substitute on the
opening day of the season, in a 3-1 win over Barnsley. Within five minutes of appearing on the pitch,
he gave the Town fans a glimpse of things to come - jinking past a defender in the area, before being
brought down - winning the penalty which allowed Sam Parkin to complete a debut hat-trick.
Davis quickly became a darling of the Swindon fans, playing in a free role as the third striker,
he had great ability to take players on and beat them with ease - and though he was occasionally selfish
with the ball, this was fuelled by the belief and confidence that he oozed when he was in possession.
In total, he made fifteen appearances for the Town, scoring three goals - when, despite numerous attempts
from Andy King to extend his loan spell, United manager Alex Ferguson requested his return to Old Trafford.
Davis' last game came on 9th November 2002, in a 1-1 draw versus Tranmere, and at the end of the game,
the Town fans gave him a standing ovation. As he left the pitch, a clearly emotional Davis signed his boots,
and handed them over to a young Town fan.
King made many attempts to re-sign Davis - and all were refused by Ferguson, but he stayed in touch with the squad,
being invited to the club's Christmas party, and visiting the County Ground as a spectator for some of the
Town's home games. Davis admitted himself that he would love to return to the County Ground, but the move
never materialised - Ferguson wanting to test him at a higher level. Shortly before the 2003/2004 season,
he signed for Watford on a season long loan deal.
Tragedy struck on the opening day of the season - a year to the day since Davis' arrival at Swindon,
he was killed in an car accident as he travelled down from Manchester on the morning of the game.
English football had lost a potential star of the future, but, more importantly, a true gentleman was gone.

In a game that featured three debuts for youth team players, nothing could prevent Swindon from loosing, David Duke and Rory Fallon getting sent off minutes before half time, after some bad refereeing from the man in the middle. Swindon held it level until minutes befor half time when Duke and Fallon were both sent off, which unindoubtably changed the game.

Pook Gets Contract

Swindon Towns youth and reserve player Michael Pook, still only 19 years old, has been offered a professional contract by Andy King. Pook has impressed the first team manager and may even start against Tranmeare today. His only senior start of the campaign came at Exeter City in the LDV vans Trophy.

The scoreboard is finally up and running, and looks very modern. Before the game it showed the starting line ups, the referee and officials names, advertisments, when Swindons next game is and it also had 'COME ON YOU REDS' appearing on it! So Grant Smith was the first AND second Swindon Town player to christen the scoreboard-who would have bet that?? My money would always be on Parkin. Lastly I would just like to say that whenever a player gets a booking, there is the most funniest picture of a ref blowing his whistle and showing the yellow card, then animated words saying, YELLOW..... CARD...... CAUTION.... And then the players name will be showed in front of all the crowd!!! Nice job Swindon Town Suppourters club!!!

Parkin rejects new deal

Swindon Towns top goal scorer for three seasons has rejected another contract at Swindon Town. Sam Parkin has just one more yaer left on his contract and the club want to make him secure at the club for longer. Parkin insists that he is not bolting for the door and says he is wants to keep his future options open. The striker who has been targeted by several clubs whilst in Wiltshire, is likely to have a queue of admirers jostling for his services this summer.

Lulu announced with Elton

Legendary Lulu has announced that she will be performing at the County Ground with Elton John on Sunday 19th June. It is a fully reserved seated concert, with for the first time seats on the pitch, in total it is expected to attract 22,000 people, and will be a fantastic event not only for the fans but the club as a whole.

Youths Feature Against Huddersfield

What with two sending offs and injuries at Swindon Town this afternoon 5 youth teamers featured in todays game. Kyle Lapham was handed a shock start at right back, with Steve Jenkins out with a calve injury. Micheal Pook was also handed a first team start again after his impressive performance against Tranmere Rovers last game. After the two sending offs minutes before half time, Swindon boss Andy King made a double substitution at half time. With Ben Wells coming on for Grant Smith, and Andy Caton replacing Christian Roberts.
With Caton th lone man up front and a youth team cup final in midweek, King replaced him for Ashan Holgate, baring in mind he dose'nt want more injuries or suspensions. The final result was a harsh one, but nothing could be done to prevent the kids from loosing.

Town See Double Red

Swindon Town not only lost today, but they also loose left midfielder David Duke with two yellow cards given to him before half time. Literally minutes later Swindon found themselves two men down, with Rory Fallon also seeing red with a straight red card, for a high challenge.

Rory for New Zealand!

Swindon Town striker Rory Fallon has made himself available for New Zealand's match with Australia on June 9th in England, at Craven Cotage home of Premiership team Fulham. The striker who first could not make the game, down to him visiting family and friends in New Zealand has changed his mind and will be staying here in England in oreder to play.

Swindon Get The Medals!

The medal appeal for the last couple of weeks has come over leaps and the Suppourters club, Trust STFC and The Swindon Away Suppourters have managed to secure six medals, that arguably the best ever Swindon Town player Harold Fleming won whilst playing for Swindon between the years 1907 and 1924. Kit for Peru

Following the Bishop of Clifton's pastoral visit to South America, swindon town Football Club has donated a set of kit for a football team in Peru.
The Bishop was visiting a poverty hit place called Moquegua, as a pastoral visit to priests of the Clifton Diocese working in South America. Whilst on the trip he attended a football tournament in which the children were wearing just plain old t-shirts, so decided he would bring some kit back to them next time! The picture was taken at half time against Tranmere Rovers, with head of Swindon Town Youth Development Iffy Onoura presenting the kit.

Town U13 could move to Chelsea?

A Swindon Town centre of excellence player has been spotted by Chelsea scouts and believe that he may become the next John Terry. The player who can not be named for leagal reasons, plays centre back for the centre of excellence team and already knows a chelsea face. Jimmy Fraser, the ex centre of excellence manager at Swindon Town left for Chelsea at the beginning of the year and may have put a word in. Swindon and Chelsea have failed to strike a financial agreement over the transfer, leading to the league one side pitching the friendly or loan idea to the west Londoners.
