SCOTLAND
 | Yes ,they have a different set of rules in Scotland.Events are organised by the Scottish Cycling Union(SCU). Members of english CTT clubs should know that: 1)You are required to wear a helmet in Scottish events. 2)If you are an SCU licence holder you must obtain a CTT membership card from CTT hq to compete in England & Wales. |

WELSH CYCLING
At the moment time trials in Wales are controlled by the CTT as in England. Wales has more to offer than time trials, this link is provided for you to explore at your leasure. |
Cyclists' Touring Club or CTC
The CTC organises many rides and tours.By reason of their diversity and variety it is difficult for a diabetic to plan with the same confidence as for a time trial. Provision is frequently made for morning, lunch and afternoon breaks to eat, drink and meet natures needs. The Hon Sec is currently enjoying Sunday morning club rides to sample the delights of cafe/pub stops which are being recommended for inclusion in the CTC guide. CTC rides maybe as far as 120mls in a day.Tours can cover far greater distances over longer periods of time. Be prepared and be controlled. |
The Tandem Club UK
This site was added on 23/10/04 on return from a JDRF conference where I regretted that it had not already been added.
I hope you are aware that a tandem is a bicycle made for two. It will either make or break a relationship.
There are many other links from this site including some to the USA.

The League International
The League International was founded and funded in late 1982 by Peter Duker and Roy Cottingham, they affiliated to the International Cycling Federation ( ICF )with the aim of bringing age related racing as practised on the Continent to Britain. The ICF is known in Europe as the "Free Federations" i.e. free of the UCI.
As expected they met with strong resistance from the established controlling bodies but with enthusiastic support from riders they persevered and a small programme of 12 age related events was underway by the 1984 season. Early members of TLI included Percy Stallard and Dave Orford and many other well known names from BLRC days. To this day TLI is totally self funded and consequently free from the dictates of UK Sport or other Government bodies.
TLI regards itself as a Club, in the same manner as CTC or the National Clarion, catering for niche markets in areas not covered satisfactorily by the National Bodies. The perceived heavy handed implementation of Common Minimum Standards and / or the dismantling of traditional geographical Divisions or Areas is alienating many dedicated officials and promoters from the other bodies. This resulted in a steady flow of inquiries to TLI as does the possibilitys of more events coming under TLI banner from 2003 onwards and a look through the current handbook shows this trend is increasing. It is rather ironic that after 22 years of demonstrating the popularity of age related categories / racing the same bodies who first opposed TLI are now beginning to adopt the same formulas.
