Walking for Health

The Trowbridge Walking Forum was initiated in 1998 by Wiltshire County Council under the Travelwise project in conjunction with the Countryside Agency. Its aim was improving health through some enjoyable exercise. Whilst it has achieved this, we have learned over the years that the social side of walking is just as important, and the group is often referred to as "talk while you walk". Anyone is welcome to join our walks and there is no charge.

Our programme consists of a mix of walks, every Wednesday there is a walk of two to three miles, fortnightly on Mondays there are longer walks of between four and six miles. The turnout for the walks ranges from a dozen to thirty.

Walks are advertised through Doctors' surgeries, the Town Council, the Wiltshire Times "What's On " column, and the Tourist Information Office (tel: 01225 777054).
