Kerry Eatwell - Chairman
White Horse Stroke Club.
Jan.2008.
As chairman of the club, now been running over 4 years, can I just confirm my original thoughts in helping to form the group, that members should be afforded the chance of meeting their peers on a regular basis and gain confidence in their newly altered life style.
I am more than pleased to report that the efforts by a few in the beginning have proven to be a resounding success in so many ways.
The factors that are noticed most of is that all the members mix and get on well, giving encouragement to each other, sharing useful contacts, exchanging points of view, have a chat and cuppa as well as sharing the stories given by speakers on a wide range of subjects.
Equally important is the opportunity, including carers, to have a different surrounding for a short time each week.
The members enjoy each other’s company so much, they have formed their own lunch group [or are fed up with home cooking ] meeting on a separate day.
All are welcome to join in, do not be shy even if you are in a wheel chair or have any speech or mobility problem, we sing from the same hymn sheet
