This is the website for all Wiltshire based short mat bowlers.
Wiltshire SMBA was set up in 1998 to encourage, support and administer Short Mat Bowls in Wiltshire. There are now 40 Clubs within the County although not all play within the County league system. In winter there are three leagues within the County - North, Central and South. A play-off to determine the County Champions is arranged at the end of the winter season. In summer there are two leagues - North and South with the Championship final taking place each September.
Additionally the Malmesbury and District League is supported by a number of teams in the north of the County.
The County currently plays in the National Inter County Competition and has a second team, 'the Moonrakers', for possible inclusion within the ICC in the future.
A range of individual competitions are organised during the winter season and the County is represented in the National Finals which take place in April each year.
Don't forget to have a look at the 'Links' page, where you will be able to view Wiltshire Short Mat Bowls in picture. The vast majority of the pictures taken are by Colin Waldeck
Short Mat Bowls is a friendly yet competitive sport played within Wiltshire by all ages. We are proud to be sponsored by Wiltshire Farm Foods and we thank them for their on-going support.
