Introduction


The money raised by the Lions is used principally to help people in the local community, but also, in line with the Lions’ world wide perspective, to help those in need in other countries, particularly the Third World. We are setting up a Leo Club for Young People in the 14 to 19 age bracket to provide a framework through which they can work together to contribute to local 'good causes'. It will be supported by and run on similar lines to the Lions Club. For furher details see 'Opportunity for Young People' link on the left.

On 28th June 2004 Warminster Lions Club launched a local 'message in a bottle' scheme designed to help the emergency & caring services identify the particular needs of those living alone in cases of accident or emergency. Our Club is part of the world's largest network of voluntary service organisations, Lions Clubs International, which has as its prime objective to create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. Lions Clubs take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of their communities and promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
