Formation of The Warminster Leo Club

The Lions Club of Warminster is starting a new Club for Young People aged 14 to 19. The new Club will be known as the Leo Club of Warminster and will run along similar lines to the Lions Club itself.

The purpose of forming the Club is to provide Young People with a suitable framework - based on Lions International principles - within which they will have the opportunity to contribute to the community, in particular by supporting local 'good causes'. This will be done by Leos giving their time and effort directly, obtaining sponsorship where appropriate, and by raising money for donations through organising fundraising events. The Club will also be encouraged to organise other activities of a social nature for the benefit of its members, families and friends.

While the The Leo Club will have its own Charter and Constitution it will be supported by the Lions Club. We will assist interested Young People in all aspects of the formation and running of the new Club.

"Leo" stands for LEADERSHIP – EXPERIENCE – OPPORTUNITY and a key feature of Leos is that while the main purpose is make a contribution to the local community, the idea is to have fun in the process. So "Leo" might also stand for "LET’S ENJOY OURSELVES!"
