Welcome to Warminster Table Tennis Club's Website

May 09: Many thanks to Roger Witchell of Upton Lovell who has kindly provided a table tennis table to the Club through the Freecycle network. He tells us there may be some interest in the Club's 'Travelling Tables' scheme (see separate web page) from the Village: we'd be delighted to respond to any invitation to help in getting TT established there.

April 09: Warminster C have earned promotion to Division 1 for the 2009-10 season, finishing second to Bradford St George and winning both Division 2 knock-out competitions, the Phillips Shield (a Handicap event) and the Tom Gaylard shield. The Club will now have all 3 of its current teams in Division 1 next season and is looking to create another team to enter Division 2. Anyone interested in joining the Club can make contact using the e-mail form on the left hand panel. More information about the Club is available below and on other pages on the site.

At the WWTT League Presentation evening the considerable contribution of Warminster Club Secretary Ray Sims was recognised by his being awarded the WWTT League's Vice President's trophy. Ray has served Club and League for over 40 years and first won the award some 25 years ago.

About the Club

The Club is active in the West Wiltshire Table Tennis League with Teams competing in the Premier, 1st and 2nd Divisions in the 2008/9 season. In the close season (April through mid September) it meets on Wednesdays and Fridays at St George's School Warminster for practice, intra-club competitions and coaching sessions. Meetings during July & August depend on demand due to holidays but pick up again in September in readiness for league matches which start around the 3rd week of the month.

New players - of whatever standard - are always welcome and Club members are happy to provide advice and coaching for beginners and those wishing to take up the game or return to it after a break (see link to the 'Coaching' page to the left). We currently have a large number of juniors in our coaching programme and a good half-dozen of 'improving' senior players who we hope will form a new Divsion 2 team in the 2009-10 season. There's still plenty of room for new members though.
Fees are a modest £3 per Club session attended and these start around 7.15pm and finish around 9.30-10pm but later arrivals & earlier departures are fine.

If you are interested in coming along please make contact via the Mail Form link on the left of the page.

Travelling Tables

We would like to consider bringing Table Tennis to other locations in the Community Area by running introductory or coaching sessions to give people a chance to see if they'd like to join the Club. If you can arrange for the use of e.g. a suitable Village Hall for such an event then please get in touch via the Mail Form on the left hand panel.
