History of the Warminster Table Tennis Club

The Club started out around 1948/9 as St John's Table Tennis Club, taking it's then name from the Church Hall in Borehan Road where its games were played.
In 1950, together with Christchurch Table Tennis Club, it formed the Warminster Table Tennis League (WTTL): this continued until it was incorporated into the West Wiltshire League. During the life of the WTTL, Chairman Ray Sims - now WTTC Club Secretary - started a Junior League based around local Youth Clubs but this, whilst sucessful for a number of years, folded due to lack of support in the late 1990's.
After moving from St John's Church hall to the Lakeside Centre in order to accomodate the greater number of matches being played by its teams, the Club moved to its present venue at St Georges School around 2003.
If you have any information on the history of the Club please forward it using the e-mail form on the LH Panel.
