The Warminster & Villages Community Partnership (WVCP) comprises local individuals, groups and organisations working with local councillors and the assistance of District and County Council Officers, to improve the Quality of Life in the area. It was granted £25000 by the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) to support the initial work involved in setting up the WVCP and preparing a Strategic Plan for the Warminster area. For information on the Aims and Objectives of the WVCP please see the links on the left.
The Partnership is open to all who live or work in the Warminster Community Area - there are no membersip fees. It is managed by a Committee elected at its AGM (see AGM 2007 page) and the work is taken forward both by this Committee and a number of partnership Groups (see the 'Developing the Partnership' page). If you would like to join/contribute in any way please use the Mail Form link at the bottom of the left hand panel to make contact.
The WVCP area embraces the town of Warminster and the Villages of Bishopstrow; Boyton; Chapmanslade; Chitterne; Codford; Corsley; Corton; Crockerton; Heytesbury; Horningsham; Knook; Longbridge, Hill, Brixton, Kingston & Monkton Deverill; Norton Bavant; Sherrington; Stockton; Sutton Veny; Upton Lovell; and Upton Scudamore.
Special efforts are continuing, lead by officers of the District Council, to consult with the villages about their particular concerns and aspirations.
The WVCP Plan is framed around the following Pillars as recommended by Wiltshire County Council:
Countryside & Land-Based Issues; Economy & Tourism; Housing & Built Environment; Culture & Leisure; Social Care & Health; Crime & Community Protection; Transport & Communications; Education, Skills & Learning. A breakdown of these into various themes is suggested on the 'WVCP Pillars & Themes' page (see link on left). A number of groups are now meeting to take these issues forward - a summary of the current position is on the 'Developing the WVCP' page and further information can be found on the pages devoted to each of the Pillars. If you are interested in contributing to the current work or cannot find the information you want on this site please use the e-mail form on the LH panel.
