The Friends of Warminster Park and Sport4Warminster are two Themes Groups relevant to this Pillar. See details below.

If you are interested in this Group or in a sub-group addressing one or more of the above Themes please make contact using the mail Form at the bottom of the LH Panel on this site. The Partnership will maintain a list of those expressing interest and will get in touch to facilitate the formation of a Group as and when sufficient interest is shown.

Friends of Warminster Park

A group of some 15 people, including local Council members & officials, the Police and the Army, have been meeting since Oct 2005 to discuss the state of the Park and its facilities and what might be done to preserve, protect and improve them - visitors will have noticed that some work has been underway on the old Boathouse and Tennis Club hut. The Group have also made suggestions regarding the siting of Dog bins and identified a need for the diagonal path down from the Ridgeway to be improved.

The Group also looked in to the possibility of working to get the Park awarded 'Green Flag Status' (see Link on our Links page) but this, and other ideas - such as raising the money needed to refurbish the paddling pool - had to be shelved pending a Chairman and Secretary for the group being found. Volunteers for these posts came forward in July 2007 so if you would like to be a 'Friend' and and contribute where you can or be kept informed of developments please make contact via the e-mail link on the left or by phoning the Chairman Steve Welling on 07785114490.
For further information please visit the Group's website at

Sport4Warminster

A 2008 inititive being lead by Michael Mounde. Sport4Warminster aims to bring together representatives of all the local sports clubs, schools, the Army & local government to look for ways in which existing sports facilities can be better used and to work together to identify, resource and deliver improvements. If you would like to be involved please make contact using the Mail Form at the bottom of the LH Panel on this site.
