Social Care & Health

The Themes under this Pillar are:

Children and families support
Adult care
Primary and hospital care
District Councillor currently assigned by WWDC as its focal point: Veronica Burden
If you are interested in this Group or in a sub-group addressing one or more of the above Themes please make contact using the mail Form at the bottom of the LH Panel on this site. The Partnership will maintain a list of those expressing interest and will advise of relevant meetings, events etc.

Ann Merrills has agreed to be the WVCP lead for this Pillar (as from April 08). It was agreed at the April Committee meeeting that initial emphasis should be on understanding and promulgating information about our entitlements regarding minor injury treatment. So far information has been found at:

www.wiltshirepct.nhs.uk/Publications/070920_MIU_changes_leaflet.pdf

(the Minor Injury Unit (MIU) Leaflet) and

www.wiltshirepct.nhs.uk/Publications/20080311PatientProspectus.pdf

This latter leaflet was distributed by the PCT via all the different free newspapers delivered to people's homes in Wiltshire and sent to all health care premises, GPs surgeries and libraries, as was the MIU leaflet.
The PCT tops up copies where requested. WCC also put a two page spread in their magazine about how to access minor injury services and services for minor illnesses.
The Partnership is also finding out about the Practice Patient Participation Groups Forum meetings. More later.
