About Strokes
Every year in this country about 100,000 people suffer their first stroke. 10,000 of these will be classed as 'younger', that is under retirement age.
In younger people stroke usually occurs against a background of normal health at a time of extensive, or developing, financial and family commitments.
Many survivors make a full recovery. Many thousands of others make sufficiently good recoveries to enable them to lead normal, full, and active lives.
