New Players are first to sign up for the season
Portugese left back Henrik Selva , Polish Midfield Dynamo's Yarek whenesnskji and local lad Rory Kelly have signed up alongside striker Alex Makawana as the Yews Continue to rebuild. the loss of four others has no real affect on the status of the squad. Mark Self , Nigel Chantly Stuart Green, Rich Chalmers and Skipper Andy Pringle all stay for a second season.
|
Chalmers returns to full training june 14th
 | | Left- Back Rich Chalmers came through two training sessions and looks fully fit after his torn knee ligament. Having missed most of last season he returns to the squad for the forth coming season. |
|
No Deal
The Proposed sponsorship deal with Lyons seafood was turned down as the business did not want to favour one team while it employed workers who play for a number of teams.....
|
Romain to Wing it
Local youngster Lee Romain joins the yews to bolstar the midfield. the pacey Winger has already settled in quite quickly. Defender lee Blackwell will sign this week but is still recovering from a foot injury and is waiting on x rays at the end of the month. The Yews are also looking at a warminster under 18's right back and a young goalkeeper known only as Daz who may be the yews answer to thier Goalkeeping crisis. The Club are still waiting for the appearance of either Stuart Milikin and Terry Conner.. |
Home-bound selva misses start
Henrik Selva will miss all off Augusts friendlies and the start of the season as he returns to Portugese at the end of july for six weeks. |
Yews ultimatum with sponsor sept 20th
The Yew Tree Public House have decided that the squad do not drink enough in the pub to sustain the cost of food on home games for two teams, this follows the pub not paying thier sponsorship fee either this season. The Club will honour thier two year deal which ends this season by still offering thier oppononets a place to drink at The Yew Tree until such time as a new venue /sponsor is named. |
Portugese influence SEPT 23RD
Henrik Silva returns to the squad this season after a six week break back home in Portugal. The talented left sided player comes straight into the side against Royal Oak, and Manager JS Glasson hopes the newboy will bring a bit of zest to the game on sunday on his first league debut. |
Mark Self has been credited with a goal
Left Back Mark "cheese" Self has been credited with Stuart Greens Goal last sunday against The GRIFFEN. An error or a misplaced x on the team sheet has put the defensive player among the Yews scoring elite. It would not be not be out of character if he was on target but Selfs long range effots seldom are. lol |
First choice keeper dissappears
Rangers First choice keeper Stuart Milikin who had fallen from grace has not been seen since Alex Makwanas spell in goal, has frozen Milikin out. Makwana who swapped his striker role for the Goalkeeping job has kept out the inconistant timekeeping keeper with some good displays. Sunday tho saw the keeper still waiting at St Georges while his side warmed up at The Landwarfare Centre. His lack of intelligence allowed Henrik Silva to come off the bench and fill his boots.....The Club have found thier Reserve keeper!!!!! |
New Base for the Yews
The Yews have found a new base for home games, The Old bell which is under new management will provide free food for the yews this season. The Yew tree which stopped its sponsorship this season now has refused to provide free food. The old bell has stepped in this season and for the rest of the season will consider any sponsorship for next year. |
Selection dilemmas for next few games
The Yews will have thier work cut out when the heart of thier Midfield will be missing, With two tough cups games coming up Rory Kelly will be 50/50 as his partner will produce a little kelly, and Polish Midfielder Yarek Filak will be on his way home. |
