WestField Trojans 5 YEWS 4
The Yews were left with a bare eleven following the deletion of Manager Glasson and Polishman Yarek Filak and Coach Martin Read before sundays match(Collier,Wallis,Chalmers,Makwana were all injured). So the trip to Trojans was going to be tougher than normal. Dilton Youngsters Sam Sanders and Andy Horton both made thier first starts and got thier first 90 minutes under thier belts,Sam in his regular right back and Andy stepping into the left wing vacated by Glasson, Oldhand John Green made his rare 90 minute appearance in the back with Kennedy, Cheese moved into midfield to partner MAN OF MATCH Rory Kelly who was at his best yet. Nigel Chantly filled in at left back while Stuart green and Mikee Payne were upfront. Portugese Henrik Silva stood between the posts for the third time this season.
Going on player reports, the game was end to end and marshalled by a young 16 year old who used his head more so than the rule book in his first game and both teams respected the position he was in, The Yews Mikee Payne wasted a hatful of chances in the first half that would come ifs and buts. Trojans took the lead i presume and added a few more before stuart green brought the yews inro the game, and also hit the post from a penalty, Trojans made it 4-1 before the break. The Yews foughtback with a brace from Mikee Payne and another from Stu Green, 4-4, With few minutes remaining a tired looking Yews side conceded a silly goal to see all thier hard work fade away. |
