Plenty to look foward too
Looking back over the last three months, since the start of the season i am rueing the games we should have won. This Division Two is still wide open with one of my predicted teams Peasedown St John Heading the table, but they still have a lot to do, along with Permaframe, Angel Inn and Royal oak. The Rest of the contenders are sharing the spoils of shock results and making it more urgent for This club to get out the blocks and start winning. This has been the worst start for Rangers in thier seven years as a sunday side. We gave Newboys Griffin Fc too much respect and had to come back and clinch a undeserved point in the first game of the season. The Following week we played Royal Oak who we lost 4-1 to , after they were reduced to ten men in the first half, that was so embarresting considering we played a blinder first half then let The Royal Oak take the game to us.This was followed by two games against Fellow WArminster Side Sureset Rangers, First meeting was a cup where we beat them 5-1 in a one sided match. My First mistake this season was to put out a weaker side to give the rest of the squad a run out a week later in a league game against them and they won 3-2 after gallantly and heroicly defending a three one lead . Thier second half performance was quoted "We defended for 45 minutes, didnt get out of our half at all, It was like the Alamo, but we held out" Ben Shave(sureset Rangers). The following league game we took a two goal lead against Norton Nomads who battled back with three second half goals deny us our first win.Two points out of a possible 12, and a injury list and absentees it wasnt looking good.A break from the league to consentrate on Cup games brought some hope to The Yews, a close encounter with Trowbridge ath, saw ten men Yews take the Visitors to extra time before losing 5-7 after The Yews Martin Read got sent off on 38 minutes with the Yews Trailing 4-1.Jb Lions the following week Beat the Yews 8-2. Back to League Action saw team Frome Beat a weakened Yews side 6-1 at Gypsy Lane. The signing of striker Mike Payne gave the Yews a lift and his partnership with Stu Green has given thier side more of an edge . A 5-4 defeat away to Trojans and then a 3-2 defeat to Angel Inn in November has seen a marked improvement.December saw all of the Yews Fixtures cancelled and that big big first win that is expected has been put on hold.......ASDA.ASDA.ASDA
IF NOMADS CAN BEAT YOU. WE CAN TO.....
There was no great start to 2007, as the Griffen won 1-0 at home with thier only shot of the game, but the Yews Grabbed thier first win of the season whipping sureset 7-2 away from home. moral was boosted but the yews could only draw 2-2 with bottom placed Greyhound. We were then demolished by Teamfrome 6-1 at home and a week later were denied another three points by a last minute equaliser to draw 3-3 with Nomads. Peasedown cc were to strong for Yews the week after at Red post we lost 5-2. a lack of official referees saw the Yews rope in againg referee George Hill who refereed the mauling of Royal oak 6-1 . Permaframe were next but the yews failed to maintain thier form and lost 4-1 . The Yews fixture backlog saw them play thier first Thursday game at Gypsy lane and came away with all three points and a move out the bottom beating Trow Ath 4-2.Mikey Payne grabbed a brace to set a new scoring record after beating Ryan Deweys 2002-2003 score of 21 goals.......and were hoping the next game against ASDA FC will happen.....
March has seen the light at the end of the tunnel finally we have a formation that is working, not to its full protential but the signs of upheaval are evident |
