On a wet and cross wind Beckington pitch the Yews took on fourth placed Angel Inn.The last game saw the Angel with 3-2 in a close game in november .The Yews in that game looked like a side returning to form and would have taken that confidence into the next few games, but the eight week break with no games from nov-jan had taken its effect on the Yews who took another month of action to get where they are now. Player-Boss glasson was again left with a bare 12 as Mark wallis and Andy Pringle both rules out for the rest of the season. Keeper Alex Makwana . Andy Horton and john green were all unavailable. Stuart Green keepered again and the Yews Defence of Kennedy Chantly self and gaffa were unchanged .Lee romain returned to his favourable Right wing with Henrik Da silva back in the middle With Rory Kelly, and Gregor Byjion made his rare start upfront with Striker Mikey Payne. Mike hadley was dragged out of obcuirty t sub.
The Yews opted to kick downfield to gain the advantage, the Beckington field is notoriously known for its downhill slope and favours the Angels direct punt foward which showed in the second half revival .The Yews pushed for the opener and Bjyion and Payne came close in the first ten minutes. after a good spell of preassure and confidence the visitors took a derseved lead Payne slotting home from close range.1-0.This prompted a further twenty minutes of possession with half chances from Romain , Kelly and Payne. The last few minutes the home side came into the game but were only allowed long shots at goal that really didnt test Green.
The second half started off the same as the first but soon turned as tempers flared and frustrations boiled over. Young Referee Mark Stockton unexperiance having its effect on both sides and Gave Yews Midfeidler Rory kelly his first yellow for which was the first of avalache of cards for both sides.Rangers Mikey Payne then grabbed his second of the game as the Yews soaked up the home sides long punts foward Chantleys header foward was lobbed forward by Da Silva who picked out Payne who doubled the Yews lEAD.Glassons side looked to be cruising to thier fifth win in five games ,until both sides went down to ten-men with Rory Kelly getting his marching orders with his midfeidler counterpart. Gregor Byjion was then replaced by Midfielder Mike Hadley who grabbed the Yews third ! no way back now!!!. The Angel keeper left stranded yards from goal and Hadley stroked the ball home. Angel dead and buried, No!!. with what supposely was left of twenty minutes it seemed a eternity ,the angel went four up front with thier favouable direct ball, Thier comeback came with some bad defending in numbers, plenty in the box but noone closing down. and the homeside forced one in. number two came ten minutes later after another long ball bounced unkindly for the defence and was tucked past Green. Surely time up , what ever was on the refs watch was in a different time zone, but it ws enough for the Angel to equalise after the yews defence stayed static to moan about a decision. Yews gaffa left stranded with two unmarked players and the easist of tap-ins. final score 3-3
