We have fleets of Larks, Enterprises, Sailboards, Solos, Lasers, Cadets, and Optimists.
We sail on the beautiful Upper Bittell Reservoir, close to the Lickey hills and easily accessible from Birmingham, the M42 and Alvechurch/Redditch/Bromsgrove. The clubhouse is located in an attractive sandstone building with a large panoramic window overlooking the lake where the non-sailors can sit in easy chairs, close to the bar and observe the rest of us having fun. Apres-sail the bar becomes lively with post mortems of the weather and racing and in winter a large log fire makes it very cosy.
The Class racing is competitive but fun with the emphasis on friendliness . If you are a novice you will find that most people are more than happy to share their expertise. We have had some excellent championship results, particularly in the junior classes.
We are a Volvo RYA Champion Club and an RYA Recognised Training Establishment meaning that training is available on specified dates at all levels and on Saturdays and/or Sunday mornings for Juniors (Seniors by arrangement).
If you think sailing might sound interesting why not come along one Sunday morning (Sailboard racing time) or afternoon (Dinghy racing time). On summer Wednesday evenings we have racing for all classes and casual sailing is possible, followed by supper and drinks from the bar.
