MALVERN Squash Club's home doubles match against Worcester's Boughton Park brought them the narrowest of victories.
Malvern scraped home with 181 points to Boughton Park’s 177. Each pair played three matches of continuous 20 minutes play, the overall result decided by the total points scored.
It was no surprise that the most experienced pairing, Roger Ison and Hugh Webber of Malvern won all their matches (100 points), starting slowly before adopting the most effective tactics for their opponents.
Boughton’s most successful team of Phil Wilde and Rob Harris won two matches and gained a total of 97 points. Greg Edwards and Ray Burrows finished third on 80 with Malvern’s John Palmer and Carol Pike close on their heels on 79.
