COMMUNITY ACTION NEWTOWN is about working together to Increase leisure facilities for young people Reduce crime and anti social behaviour Improve our environment We are a voluntary group set up in July 2003 , of residents, young people, the local housing company, shop owners, the clergy, the Police, local councillors and representatives from the youth service and local schools. WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR Consulted with the community through 800 household questionnaires, suggestion boxes left in general stores, the chippy and the youth centre and school and ongoing consultation meetings. The main issues raised by this exercise were anti social behaviour and something for young people to do. As a result, we have raised £ .
